Barclays is launching a Fast-Track Remortgage service for eligible customers, with reports suggesting an offer could be issued within 24 hours and completion achieved in as little as five days. Gatehouse Bank has also introduced fee-free refinance products, reinforcing the competitive focus on retaining and switching borrowers as refinancing volumes and rate sensitivity remain elevated.

Rapid journeys make clean data, identity checks, valuation decisions and document workflows more important. Advisers can use AI-enabled workflow tools to identify expiring deals, chase missing documents and summarise client fact-finds; however, speed must not weaken Consumer Duty controls. Firms should retain clear audit trails, test automated communications for accuracy and ensure clients understand that an expedited process does not replace tailored mortgage advice where it is required.
