Fintel Deal Reshapes Mortgage Tech

Fintel’s £38.4m acquisition of Mortgage Brain Holdings brings Mortgage Brain, Mortgage Engine, AE3 Media and Criteria Hub further into a major financial-services technology and data group. Mortgage Brain software reportedly supports around 40% of UK residential and buy-to-let mortgage applications, making the transaction significant for adviser workflow and lender distribution.

For advisers, the potential opportunity is a more connected technology ecosystem: product research, criteria matching, sourcing and application journeys could become increasingly data-led and automated. The key questions will be whether integration improves data quality and case progression without reducing choice, transparency or firms’ ability to evidence suitability.

  • Review how any platform changes affect your sourcing and audit trail.
  • Check data-sharing, cyber-security and supplier-resilience arrangements.
  • Keep human oversight over complex cases and final recommendations.
