Skipton Building Society is cutting fixed mortgage rates across its range by up to 0.15% from 25 September, while widening access to its Delayed Start Mortgage for home movers. The proposition allows eligible borrowers to defer their first mortgage repayment for up to three months, potentially easing the immediate cash-flow pressures of moving.

For advisers, the wider market message remains mixed. Although Skipton is repricing down, reports also point to rate increases from some major lenders and inflation has risen to 3.1%, while Bank Rate remains at 3.75%. AI-driven sourcing and client-book monitoring can help identify borrowers approaching expiry or considering a move, but recommendations should still be based on verified live pricing, fees, affordability and the client’s need for payment certainty.
