Digital Moving Creates Protection Opportunity

Mortgage Brain has integrated Paymentshield into CRM Brain, enabling brokers to introduce a home-insurance quote after a mortgage application is submitted without moving between systems. At the same time, industry figures are urging firms to engage with digital home-moving reform rather than wait for change to be imposed on them.

This aligns with the FCA’s work to improve protection coverage: around 58% of adults have no life insurance, critical illness cover or income protection. Better-connected data and automated prompts can help advisers raise protection at relevant moments, including purchase, remortgage and rental transitions. However, automation should be framed as a prompt for a needs-based discussion—not a substitute for clear disclosure, suitability assessment or customer consent.
