Project 28’s first-anniversary discussions brought together lenders, conveyancers, estate agents and government representatives around the aim of faster property transactions. The focus is on sharing better property information earlier in the homebuying process, reducing duplication, surprises and avoidable delays after an offer is accepted.
This is a practical use case for AI and data-led workflow tools: extracting information from documents, identifying missing fields, flagging potential risks and routing cases to the right person sooner. For advisers, the benefit is not replacing judgement but gaining clearer case visibility and being able to set more realistic expectations for clients. Adoption will depend on strong data quality, consent, cyber security and clear accountability when automated checks identify—or fail to identify—an issue.
